by Nick DAddezio on January 23 2012, 02:05 PM

I am pleased to share the news that Datatel and SunGard Higher Education have completed the transactions to combine and operate as one company. Our newly combined organization will be exclusively focused on helping institutions like yours succeed in today’s changing education environment.

I am confident we can do even more for you and your institution as a combined organization. I want you to know that we will continue to invest in the solutions and relationships you rely on. We are committed to accelerating innovation so that you have the support you need to move your institution forward during a time of great transformation in higher education. We look forward to providing you with new choices and new opportunities through our broad portfolio of solutions and the power of an extended global community.

As we combine business operations, we are committed to providing you with the smoothest transition possible. As we announced previously, I will serve as the CEO of the combined company and Ron Lang will serve as vice chairman of the board of directors. We will do business as “Datatel+SGHE” until we announce a new name in the first half of 2012. You can find more detailed information about the leadership team at www.sungardhe.com/executive-leadership.

Should you or your team have additional questions in the near term, we invite you to review today’s press release and other materials at www.sungardhe.com/combination. Please don’t hesitate to contact the members of your customer relationship team if you have questions.

Our relationships with our customers are a priority and I look forward to learning more about you and your institution as we move forward together into what I know will be an exciting future. I hope to see you and your colleagues at this year’s Summit conference. It is a privilege to serve you and your community and I anticipate many more years of productive partnership with you and your institution.

Best regards,

John F. Speer, III
President and Chief Executive Officer
