If there is a way to talk about corporate restructuring or corporate alignment that does not offend someone, I have not found the words. When people are fired for not doing their jobs, there is at least some sense of fairness about the action. When people are laid off because the company they work for was strategically combined with another, there is rarely any sense of fairness.
