SUNY College at Old Westbury Selects ANGEL Learning LMS

Ease of Use, Versatility of ANGEL Learning Management Suite Benefit Students and Faculty at SUNY College at Old Westbury

Indianapolis, Ind. – March 3, 2009
– ANGEL® Learning, a leading provider of enterprise eLearning software and services, today announced that SUNY College at Old Westbury, one of the 64 colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, the nation’s largest system of public higher education, has adopted the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) under the SUNY Master Agreement with ANGEL Learning. With its ANGEL adoption, Old Westbury is standardizing on a single LMS to support both web-enhanced face-to-face instruction and online learning.

“Students now only have to learn to use one system for both web-enhanced and online learning, and ANGEL is easy to use,” said Raúl Zevallos, instructional technologist, SUNY College at Old Westbury. Zevallos also notes that the “versatility” of the ANGEL LMS will save faculty time. “You can do almost anything you want with ANGEL,” said Zevallos. “Faculty’s body of assessments is saved in ANGEL, and they can modify assessments quickly and easily. They can also modify the ANGEL gradebook at anytime, add more tasks, add more points, and it isn’t complicated. Faculty can accomplish their goals with ANGEL.”

“With its adoption of the ANGEL LMS, SUNY College at Old Westbury joins the quickly growing community of SUNY ANGEL users,” said Christopher Clapp, president and CEO, ANGEL Learning. “The concentration of ANGEL users in the State of New York is creating a thriving Northeast ANGEL community where, in the academic tradition, best practices are freely exchanged.”

SUNY College at Old Westbury serves 3,300 students from across the U.S. and more than 20 foreign countries with both web-enhanced traditional and totally online instruction. The college’s 604 acre wooded campus is located on Long Island, New York just 20 miles from New York City. Old Westbury offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes 45 undergraduate majors in the arts, sciences, and professional studies and a masters program in accounting. The college endeavors to stimulate in students a passion for learning and a commitment to building a more just world for humankind.
