New SIS Report: Oracle the most selected vendor for Student Information Systems in 2013

The Tambellini Group just released their 6th edition of the U.S Student Information Systems Market, Trends and Leaders research report.

This year there were some very interesting happenings in the SIS market.  Oracle moved to the top of the leader board as the most selected vendor in 2013 for Student Information Systems while Ellucian maintained its leadership position in market share.  The research report also showed that the SIS market is heating back up in the United States.

New this year in the report,  is a section that reviews the implementation partners of vendors like Workday. This is a great addition to this report as implementation is such an important component in the selection of a new SIS.

I don't know where else you can get a report that is as comprehensive and accurate when it comes to higher education technology.   The research is based off of SIS data that is cataloged in the TTG Education Institution Technology Profile Database™.  This database maintains over 53,300 education technology selections made by institutions around the world. The Education Institution Technology Profile Database™ contains SIS records for more than 5,400 U.S. higher education institutions, including accredited and non-accredited schools and is updated on a daily basis.

I would encourage any CIO or technology decision maker on campus to get a copy of this research report.  It is the best resource to stay on top of the SIS market and a great guide for those who are starting to evaluate new student information systems.
